Do you have itching ears? Do you have a desire to set your eyes on things below your feet? Are you partaking in gossip; judgements without a desire to have a conversation to acquire knowledge?

These are just some of the things that one will experience when being led by the flesh. When a person wanders far from The Lord, outside of His pasture, leaving the fold to join the world in what is seemingly harmless behaviour, he/she inadvertently does a desservice to their soul. What profits a man to feast so that his body is satisfied yet his soul hungers? We cannot afford to starve ourselves spiritually. As believers we must understand that we have to stay connected to The Source of Life.

The faith connection is a mechanism we utilize while running the race which is our life’s journey. We must be conditioned and spiritually built up to withstand the many afflictions, adversity, rejection and persecution.

It would do us well to remember the purpose of enduring to the end in the hope that we may be saved. 2 Timothy 4:1-5 reminds us to keep into perspective the spiritual hardships we face in many areas including but not limited to, health, financial, emotional, mental, so on and so forth.

Keep in your heart and mind that whether you acquire opportunities or riches in this life the driving force is higher than materials that wither away and rust. Your time, your money, your tenacity and consistency is measured against the holy standard of Yah. It is not the materials but the faith, righteousness, lovingkindness, patience in sharing, witnessing and teaching, rebuking & correction, etc. that is the comparative.

Does your contributions measure up? Are you utilizing your skills, resources, time or knowledge to reflect your heart’s cry?

Are your words aligning with your actions of obedience in love & faith to reflect God’s Word and holy standard?

2 Timothy 4:1-5 NKJV

4 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: ² Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. ³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; ⁴ and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. ⁵ But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
