I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgements and do them. Ezekiel 36:27
The Day of Atonement in Biblical context is one that can only be understood through the revelation and teaching of The Holy Spirit Who brings understanding of what God actually says for it is His Word. [Ezekiel 36:27]
When we as believers in Christ who actually follow Him on the path of righteousness truly love God, then we will understand the action of our love is through obedience unto the Father. [Deuteronomy 11:1-21]
“Therefore you shall love the Lord your God, and keep His charge, His statutes, His judgements, and His commandments always.
Deuteronomy 11:1
When you say that you obey God…what does that actually mean? What are you saying that you obey? If you do not embrace or adhere to God’s Instruction then you are living out of covenant with God and leave yourself open to the judgement of His Wrath. [Romans 1:18-32]
Salvation is Yeshua…that is His Name and He is our Freely Given Gift. However, Sanctification is a process of holiness within the endurance of our life’s journey.[Acts 4:12-32]
Repentance is the acknowledgement of holiness & righteousness and making the choice to put away that which is unholy and displeases God while choosing to live uprightly, following Yeshua…pursuing Peace. Therefore, turning away from sin which is transgression of the law. [2 Chronicles 7:14, Acts 3:19, Matthew 4:17, James 4:8, Acts 17:30, Mark 1:15, Luke 13:3]
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
1 John 3:4 KJV
As followers of Yeshua we do not follow the understanding of rabbinic ideologies, writings, interpretations, and traditions. [Acts 5:22-32]
Yeshua is the Testator. This is how it is that we have the New Testament for He is the turning point that allows us to be reconciled unto YHWH. You cannot have a New Testament without a Testator, our Great Shepherd is leading us to the Eternal Promised Land mirroring the prophecy shown through Moses leading God’s chosen people to the Promised Land during the Exodus. [Hebrews 9:16-28]
Hebrews 9:16-22
The Mediator’s Death Necessary
16 For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives. 18 Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood. 19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20 saying, “This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you.” 21 Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. 22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
Throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation the continuous reminder and command from God is that we obey His commands…we obey His law which is His Torah and “Torah” is translated as God’s Instruction. Therefore, we are to obey God’s instruction for His Holy Scriptures are His Word.
Torah
The word “Torah,” means teaching and instruction, it comes from the root (י-ר-ה), from which we get two verbs: the verb (לְהוֹרוֹת) that means to teach, to lead, and to instruct; and the verb (לִירוֹת), that means to shoot and to fire.
We cannot afford to think that God will conform to our understanding and ways. We as God’s Chosen people must conform to God’s Ways and Understanding for He is higher. [Isaiah 55:8-9]
If we say that we love God then we cannot just embrace one part of His Holy Scriptures. We must embrace the entirety of His Word from the beginning to the end; this is God’s Torah…this is God’s Instruction. [Proverbs 4, Ecclesiastes 1:9-11, Revelation 1:8; 22:13]
According to Jewish understanding the Torah is the first five books of the Bible written by Moses. However, just as I’ve mentioned above Torah is the Hebraic translation of God’s Instruction. God’s Instruction is throughout the entire Bible.
We know that God’s Instruction does not end with the Old Testament indeed those of us who believe in Yeshua know that the New Testament is a mirror image of the Old Testament. It is not done away with and it is not a separate word that has been brought through the Son. For Yeshua Himself confirms the Father’s Word through His oath according to Melchizedek and the fulfilment, meaning the perfect completion of the prophecies that was spoken of Messiah in the Old Testament. [Hebrews 7, Psalm 110 key verse 4]
Yeshua repeatedly fulfills The Word that was spoken by God The Father for Yeshua is the mirror image of His Father Who is Spirit and the NT is the mirror image of the OT.
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as [a]by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18
These mirror images are just a few of the “2 witnesses” pattern revealed throughout The Holy Scriptures.
We will explore this pattern in a later blog post.
Did you know that there are Old Testament Moral, Ceremonial, and Sacrificial laws that God commands us to keep for our daily living?
This is why we die daily as Paul said. We die daily to our desires of the flesh & the ways of the world and embrace & obey God’s Ways. This is giving our lives as living sacrifices. [1 Corinthians 15:31-49]
However, we NO LONGER have to provide the SACRIFICIAL offerings in the way that it was presented in the Old Testament because as believers in Yeshua we know that He was the ULTIMATE and FINAL SACRIFICE as the Precious Lamb slain before the foundations of the world. This does not mean we stop obeying the moral and ceremonial portions of God’s Commands. For God Himself prophesied and commanded for His Laws, Statutes, and Commands are to be kept forever and ever. [Hebrews 7 & Hebrews 10]
My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you.
Proverbs 3:1-2
Whatever is in the heart of man that he will do.
If we believe we do not have to implement the fullness of God’s Ways i.e. God’s Torah/Law of The Spirit/God’s Instruction within our daily lives and we choose to continue to live as the world we are saying that God is a liar through our actions..HEAVEN FORBID.
Yeshua provided the Eternal, Perpetual, Continuous Sacrifice that replaces the WEAK sacrifices of MEN according to Hebrews Chapter 7.
Yeshua through His Blood established the Eternal Priesthood.
We rejoice and praise God in His Day of Atonement for the Eternal Sacrifice and REMEMBER Yeshua; praising Him in worship for the Perfect completion of His Work. [Leviticus 16]
Therefore in the Day of Atonement which begins the evening of Sunday September 24th to the evening of Monday September 25th.
We remember the Eternal Sacrifice of Yeshua and shedding His Blood on the cross for His Chosen people.
We do not partake in pagan customs such as Easter or Resurrection Day or Palm Sunday for these are Roman Catholic interpretations of the ACTUAL Feasts of The Lord that we should be partaking in as the followers of God. [Ephesians 5:7-16]
*Please keep in mind that these pagan holi-days that are “supposed” to celebrate Christ are a mockery and are blasphemous festivals & times that are not accurate according to God’s calendar.*
Take heed all those with eyes to see and ears to hear the FULLNESS of God’s Instruction. Don’t allow the enemy to deceive you with false doctrine and cherry-picked, out-of-context scriptures designed to keep you out of covenant with The True and Living God of Israel, YHWH.
God commands us to remember the Sabbath Day and keep it [The 7th Day of Ceasing/Rest] holy.
*Please keep in mind there are a number of Sabbaths throughout the Feasts of The Lord, including High Sabbaths which are 7th Day Sabbaths that overlap Feast Days.
Holy means separate and set apart.
Leviticus 23 | The Feasts of The Lord
As God’s chosen people who are set apart, unique, and peculiar in God’s eyes, we are to reflect the evidence of The Holy Spirit in us by showing that we are in one accord and of one mind with our God and King by partaking in The Holy Days. For The Holy Days are Holy convocations, Memorials, and Dress Rehearsals of the Prophetic Feasts to come shown in Revelation.
The Feasts of The Lord as stated in the Old Testament are also shown throughout the New Testament and are indeed the Eternal Feasts as God has stated that will be kept forever and ever.
Exodus 12:14 NKJV
‘So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance.
True followers of Yeshua obey the commands of God which include the remembrance and keeping of His Holy Convocations in context, which no longer require keeping SACRIFICIAL laws according to the Old Testament practices but do require worship and observance in rejoicing for Yeshua has provided the STRONG and Eternal Sacrifice for the chosen people of God. Those who “say” they believe and yet do not follow Christ in the Ways of His Father, they will be shown to be out of covenant with YHWH and will endure His wrath along with the Nations who do not know Him. [Deuteronomy 7, 1 Peter 2:4-25]
May we take heed. Rejoice, pray, worship, and praise The Most High God for not doing away with His Eternal Word but in fact providing a Way of Reconciliation through His Beloved Son so that He will Tabernacle with us forever and ever according to Revelation 21:3-5.
Let us come together in one accord and of one mind to keep God’s Eternal Covenant as His Chosen people. [Philipians 2:1-11, 1 Peter 3:8, Acts 1:14; 2:1; 5:12]
God’s Covenant is our HERITAGE.
111 Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, For they are the rejoicing of my heart. 112 I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes Forever, to the very end.
Psalm 119:111-112
Isaiah 58:13-14
If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,
Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord;
And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth,
And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father.
The mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Deuteronomy 7:9-11
“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; 10 and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face. 11 Therefore you shall keep the commandment, the statutes, and the judgements which I command you today, to observe them.
Exodus 19:5-6
5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”
Be holy for He Is Holy.
1 Peter 1:15-16
