In Psalm 26 entitled, “A Prayer for Divine Scrutiny and Redemption”, we read the proclamation of David. In reading this passage, we learn the conditions and foundation of breakthrough in our lives.
This Psalm of David gives us a picture and insight into the life of the believer who walks uprightly and intentionally makes a decision daily to live a life of repentance and righteousness. We see the boldness in standing apart from the world while upholding The Holy Standard of God. David embraces the firmness of resistance against unholiness found in the wickedness of men. He shows that believers should be unashamed in living for Christ while lifting up our voices of thanksgiving.
In the evidence of integrity and lovingkindness, we walk in Truth and obedience unto The Most High.
In the last portion of the passage in verse 12, we see that the believer is unified with the congregation standing on even and firm ground. Standing with the boldness and righteousness of God we maintain a posture of humility to cry out to The True and Living God for Redemption and Mercy.
The assurance of trusting in The Lord Who is Faithful shows the everlasting promise that we shall not fall and we shall not fail. Surely the trials and tribulations that will come are not endured in vain but are used for our good that we will be chastened and pruned as we walk The Way of Righteousness following our Great Shepherd Yeshua.
Psalm 26 lays out a framework to call out unto God for correction while in humility asking Him for redemption. Keeping in mind that it is the Strength in Christ that allows us to endure, to stand, and resist the devil and his temptations.
Just as the believer walks uprightly and can joyfully proclaim the innocence of our hands, we cannot rest in this walk of faith alone for our hands cannot secure eternal life in Christ. Rather it is the Walk of Faith and the innocence of our hands reflecting the obedience and repentance that shows the evidence of our love for our Father and His Beloved Son… These are the signs of reconciliation unto the Father to come eternally according to His Promise.
When we keep in mind the understanding and wisdom gained from this passage, we will understand what it looks like to live a life that creates the conditions for breakthrough. When we pair obedience with faith in Christ…relying on Him, the atmosphere of cooperation in faith allows for the seed of God’s miracle to flourish in our lives.
Remember the miracles of Christ in the New testament. When the people did not believe no miracles could be done. However we see many instances where when people believed and had faith many were healed and delivered by Yeshua. Not that our God and King needs mankind for anything. God is so good…so loving that He allows us the opportunity of cooperation to strengthen our hearts and faith.
Through the warnings and teachings of Christ, we understand that our actions or inactions create open doors in our lives. Rebellion and disobedience frustrates the progress of breakthrough in our lives.
When we can begin to persistently seek the Face of God, we will be thirsty and hungry for His Word…His Truth, to shine forth in our lives. Obedience, repentance and living holy lives in faith in Yeshua creates the atmosphere of cooperation.
With this cooperation in faith our God lovingly rewards us with the blessing of His miracles and breakthrough.
Psalm 26 NKJV
A Prayer for Divine Scrutiny and Redemption
A Psalm of David.
26 Vindicate me, O Lord,
For I have walked in my integrity.
I have also trusted in the Lord;
I shall not slip.
2 Examine me, O Lord, and prove me;
Try my mind and my heart.
3 For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes,
And I have walked in Your truth.
4 I have not sat with idolatrous mortals,
Nor will I go in with hypocrites.
5 I have hated the assembly of evildoers,
And will not sit with the wicked.
6 I will wash my hands in innocence;
So I will go about Your altar, O Lord,
7 That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving,
And tell of all Your wondrous works.
8 Lord, I have loved the habitation of Your house,
And the place where Your glory dwells.
9 Do not gather my soul with sinners,
Nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
10 In whose hands is a sinister scheme,
And whose right hand is full of bribes.
11 But as for me, I will walk in my integrity;
Redeem me and be merciful to me.
12 My foot stands in an even place;
In the congregations I will bless the Lord.
Be holy for He is Holy.
