Oftentimes lies are told without the full understanding of the overall scope of the effects deceit can cause. Lies can tear families apart, sever ties in friendships, destroy characters, and in the most severe cases…cost lives & souls. It would do us well to remember the importance of being ambassadors of The Gospel of Christ for our example [as we follow Yeshua] can change the perception of what is helpful according to the world versus what is beneficial according to The Holy Scriptures.

Someone recently presented the following question:
Q.
The mother of my kids lied during the custody hearing to try to get full custody. We at one time loved each other…how could she do this?
A.
She could be feeling a range of emotions from the break-up and breakdown of the family structure…
…and acting out from a broken heart regardless of whose to blame.
Although it is always best to know both sides to get a full picture of the situation. I can share this biblical perspective regarding the aspect of lying.
She may be having a hard time accepting and letting go of a life she thought you would have together. Although she lied in court to gain favor in the decision to obtain full custody, she could be feeling fearful of being alone or having to raise the children “by herself”…not an easy transition I’m sure. In any event, the sheer thought of taking the journey of parenthood without being joined to you as her other half is sparking [or fueling] this chain reaction of “retribution”.
In general, lying or any type of potentially harmful action is not right but in the mind of a liar, the person feels justified in what they say or do. This can be detrimental for not all that appears to be helpful is beneficial. In this distorted approach “helpful” and “beneficial” are one and the same in their mind…this is not reality, however.
If one is willing to justify lying or commit any other type of sin, that is an indication of a twisted mindset. A person that is unwilling to or is unable to make the distinction between righteousness and unrighteousness shows a lack of rationality. These irrational perceptions and actions are like wild cards. You cannot say for certain what they may or may not do because if one is in the world they are not living by nor upholding God’s Holy Standard and therefore, may resort to worldly thinking. If you pair that thinking with a broken heart you could be in for a short time or a lifetime of turmoil.
Remember, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities in heavenly places.
One agenda of the adversary is to dismantle the family unit and if that structure is in disrepair, the adversary will definitely be in the mix to make sure it stays that way and becomes so unstable there is no opportunity for reconciliation, especially when that unit is unequally yoked.
The best thing is to pray, stay strong and walk in faith in Yeshua [Jesus] as you face this battle. Document and do the best within your ability to be an upright parent to your children and get a lawyer if possible to unveil the lies and present the truth.
Be of good cheer for our God sees all and reveals all in due time and season.
Sometimes we may not understand why those causing the offense seem to be getting away with it but I encourage you to be still. Although you can’t see the outlook of this trial of endurance, God does everything for a reason and with a divine purpose to bring all things full circle in righteous justice…after all, Yeshua is the Righteous Judge and all things will and must come into subjection under His feet.
At this point, some would find it easier to disconnect and ignore the negativity that may arise from this. I implore you to concentrate on being there for your children and do not fear staying on top of this matter. Ignoring it because of the tumultuous and evasive experiences that come from lying will only make it worse. For some reason, society would rather believe a lie than accept the truth.
So stay consistent and do what is right and the truth will eventually prevail.
Lying is a form of revenge that is bitter and will not be beneficial for anyone, especially the children.
Lies are evidence of bitterness, rage, regret, rejection, and many other things…but while the lies could potentially inflict chaos and mayhem on your life and inadvertently could harm the children overall, your ex will be unknowingly holding herself captive, bound by the soul tie that does not allow her to move on and find the true love that is meant for her.
All the best.

As believers, we can make a difference, whether by acts of kindness, partaking in conversation, or simply answering a question, these events are opportunities to show what the mind of Christ looks like. Thereby, applying Biblical principles to circumstances we face in our everyday lives and daily living.
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Colossians 3:9-11 NKJV
Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
Proverbs 10:18 NKJV
Whoever hides hatred has lying lips,
And whoever spreads slander is a fool.
Be holy for He Is Holy.
