Wow! That was harsh : /

Well, in this last hour of the age we can’t afford anymore to sugarcoat the realities of sinful behavior and treatment. Bad company corrupts good character according to 1 Corinthians 15:33-34. Many believers naturally wear our hearts… [The Love of Christ] on our sleeves. Others guard it until trust is earned. The journey called LIFE reveals through time, the methods and madness of the mindset of the world we encounter every day. However, the PROCESS called SANCTIFICATION teaches according to God’s Word the level of standard we should live by…THE HOLY STANDARD OF GOD.

The more we willingly learn of The Lord’s Ways and His Thoughts, the more our hearts, souls, and minds align with His Wisdom. Through the Holy Spirit we learn what TRUE LOVE is…what RESPECT looks like…what TRUTH sounds like…what RELATIONSHIP & CONNECTION in CHRIST feel like.

If you pay close attention to the Lord when He says in LOVE how we are to be treated and also treat others then you will start to see the opposition in the world revealed right before your eyes.

What is a garbage connection?
Well, the real question is…WHAT IS GARBAGE? I’m not trying to be sarcastic here…Let’s really dive into this to understand the deep meaning behind this very serious type of physical & spiritual oppression.

According to the Oxford Dictionary:
GARBAGE means…

• wasted or spoiled food and other refuse, as from a kitchen or household.
• a thing that is considered worthless or meaningless.
• unwanted data in a computer’s memory.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
GARBAGE also means…

• inaccurate or useless data
• trash sense
• discarded or useless material

I’m sure by now you’re already making a list of times in your life when you’ve had moments that could be considered pretty “garbage” experiences.

WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! WAIT A MINUTE!

Believers shouldn’t be having trashy…moments…RIGHT?!?!

Well, YES and NO…

Can we just get the easy stuff out of the way and say that NO…believers should NOT be having the “backsliding, unbelieving type of lifestyle” moments? We in Christ are to be born again and therefore have made the CHOICE to follow CHRIST through obedience, repentance, and reconciliation unto the FATHER. The Holy Scriptures says:

Matthew 16:25-27 NKJV
25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

So, what do garbage experiences look like, feel like, or sound like?

A special occasion with friends and/or family…YOU with your thoughtful, caring, helpful heart “goes out on a limb” (at least that’s what it seems like to others) and actually have the nerve to do something special for the guest of honor….HOW DARE YOU! Eye rolls please…little snickering and covert chit-chat here and there…oh boy… let the worldly banter begin.

Kingdom mindset, “Aww, what a kind gesture.”

Worldly mindset, “Here you go again..always doing too much.”

Yep, that’s what they’ll say…unless the kind gesture was for or towards them of course.

You go to the grocery store…you with your heart after CHRIST is mindful to use good manners as you make your way through the aisles, patiently waiting in the long line that others are outwardly impatient in and you are sure to kindly have small talk with the cashier hoping that at least you’ll be one of few customers that may have reminded them that there are still customers who appreciate those on the frontline.

…and what’s the response to your outward expression of compassion, joy, & peace???
No “thank yous” in return for making a way in the crowded aisles for passersby…no “excuse me” for bumping your cart or reaching over you…you’re sandwiched between miserable and surly who expect you to jump in and take part in the slashing and bashing of store employees… cashier’s obvious annoyance at your cheerful chat bout that you thought would be well received….oh and btw, they throw your eggs and bread in with a gallon of milk…all the best getting it home in one piece!

Of course, every employee should be as happy as can be to deal with the thousandth personality that could be hot, cold, or irrational after hours on their feet.

Kingdom mindset, “Thank you for your help I appreciate it! Have a wonderful day…God bless you! Hey, Hey Jesus loves you!”

World mindset,”Hurry up, I’ve been working all day and I gotta get home, blah, blah, blah, they’re lazy! They don’t wanna do their job!”

Geesh, survival of the fittest in these New Age streets!

So you go to a friend and/or family function…and you’re just as tickled as you can be to see loved ones you haven’t seen in ages! You’re so excited to wear your classy & modest “cloak” to show you have style minus the Babylonian bells and whistles. You’re not worried nor bothered by what others will think because you love Yeshua on the inside and it definitely shows on the outside. You know you are wonderfully made, knitted together in the womb and you are handsome/beautiful in these eyes of God…SO YOU ARE GOOD in the vanity department for the Lord stripped you of the vanity of vanities and pride during your long walk with Jesus…Hey you have superb endurance you SURVIVOR OF LIFE you : )

…and yet you’re met with great convos…although some were a bit dry…and some you’re wondering.” Ah, did I do something? What was that about???”

…of course, they didn’t realize you saw the obvious side eye and the eye rolls before and after the cheerful gracious greetings, hugs, and “long time no see” chatter…

…and what’s with the scattered “private side convos” while they’re looking at you? Or the halfway “kinda but not really” response types/mannerisms in response to your cheerful “Hey, how are you! Let’s talk!”

While we’re at it we’ll just include the “I don’t have time to talk” or the “why are you talking to me?” or the “I just don’t wanna talk to you.” obvious but understated and sometimes “silent” gestures.

…ah..ok…weird…

The “snickering bickering” frenemy
The “always miserable” co-worker
The “big bully” boss
The “hurt person who hurts people” person
The “I don’t care who hears me” person
The “I feel better when I put others down” person
The “jealous, envious, and/or insecure” person – Look out folks this one’s really dangerous
The “I know I’m you’re loved one but I hate you” person
The “rude for no reason” person
The “I can’t stop lying” person

The “I slander others but I’m the one who’s actually what I make others out to be” person…WOW…
…and I could go on and on but I’ll leave you to help me fill in the blanks

I’m sure you could go on and on too from what you may have experienced or seen out and about in your travels in this wild world.

BUT…

Can we just take a moment to PRAISE THE LORD for calling us out of the world???

John 17:16-18 NKJV
16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

Isaiah 6:3 NKJV
3 And one cried to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”

Revelation 4:8 NKJV
8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:

“Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”

HALLELUYAH!!! WORTHY IS THE LAMB OF GOD!!! AMEN!

Now that we explored negative encounters we may face in the world. Let’s continue to bring our focus back to the way of Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh…through the lens of holiness.

What do our God and King say on these matters that we will experience?

John 15:18-25 NKJV
The World’s Hatred
18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’

They bless with their mouth,
But they curse inwardly. Selah

For my expectation is from Him.

2 Corinthians 6:13-15 NKJV
13 Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open.
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

The more you walk with Yeshua, the more you are walking away from the world and when that happens you will notice an increase in oppression and opposition even in the mildest forms.

The enemy is looking to steal, kill, and destroy.

John 10:10 NKJV

¹⁰ The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

So if satan can steal your beautiful smile. HE WILL
If satan can kill your joyful personality. HE WILL
If satan can destroy your compassionate heart. HE WILL

Demonic activity is shown in a number of ways including how people are treated. These antics flow through people who exude trashy attitudes & mindsets and inflict harm onto others by projecting the outward manifestation of what is going on inwardly.

In short, having open doors in one’s life leads to demonic influences and those influences lead to garbage behavior and the sin stewing in that person’s inward parts is like garbage that hasn’t been taken out. It festers and becomes too much to bear…a pungent abominable odor…

You know how God loves the sweet aroma and Messiah’s White Linen Robe is CLEAN and scented of myrrh and aloes?

Abomination is that of an offensive odor unto God.

Believers Beware…if you do not cut garbage connections with trashy people at the root, good morals will be corrupted by bad company, and soon the day-old, week-old, or year-old trash that’s been festering in others will rub off on you and no one wants to be the smelly kid in the kingdom….just sayin…

Garbage connections deposit unwanted data in our minds; memories that can add to or start a battle in the mind that can be hard to overcome and win. Negative memories can cause a believer to become strange (Ezekiel 10 & 11).

Garbage connections can be inaccurate and useless especially if lies, slander, or defamation are involved. Of course, it sounds right among the dead but among the living…it makes no sense at all…you know, “trash sense“.

Garbage connections are not fruitful…blessing with their mouths and cursing with their hearts are like wasted food…unbearing seeds that can’t be planted for they ruin good soil and if grown or sewn, they produce rotten fruit…cannot be shared no reproduced…only worthy of the trash bin.

Garbage connections are materials woven together from useless, meaningless interactions that are sometimes hoarded when they should be discarded.

These types of negative connections can leave a person with a multitude of feelings including:

Lonely/Alienated
Discouraged
Angry/Frustrated
Sad
Helpless/Hopeless
Devalued
Dispensable

If you are someone who has been made to feel less than…if you are someone that has been afflicted with terrorizing or insecurity, jealousy, envy, or any other form of hate…

Please remember that you are priceless in the eyes of God. You are an inheritance worthy of the King of kings. You are set apart and called out from among them and the essence of True Love is found among the brethren in the Body of Christ.

We are of one mind and of one accord in Christ Who Strengthens us.

So do not worry, don’t fall for the enemy’s trap that is designed to have us on an emotional hamster wheel. You are destined to walk upright into the Promised Land. Don’t allow the enemy to have you burdened by the constraints of the endless dysfunctional cycle of mistreatment…for that only leads to walking around the mountain in the wilderness for 40 years.

Recognize the patterns, the cycles, and the common denominator that garbage connections with trashy people have…they are without Christ and the evidence is in how THEY live and how YOU are treated, how you are loved and how you are listened to. As well as what comes out of their mouths for the lamp of the eyes and the depths of the heart are revealed in the midst of the Light.

You are salt and light in the earth…

Matthew 5:13-16
Believers Are Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Be still, be of very good courage, fight the good fight of faith, and know that as an ambassador and witness of Yeshua, the enemy will attempt to afflict you to win the battle but our Messiah King Who is coming with The Wrath of God has already WON the WAR.

Know your worth in Christ…and accept nothing less than The Holy Standard of God.
YOU ARE LOVED.
