The Plague of Humanity

The plague of humanity is an inevitable course of action by mankind in an attempt to be like God and if given the chance be God. The plague of humanity just as all things has a root cause and effect. The effect this plague has had on mankind is very clear.

In Matthew 24, we read of the end-time event known as The Great Tribulation which our Messiah King Yeshua prophetically warns us about. He tells of not just the signs but the seasons as well to mark the point in history by which He will return to give righteous judgment upon the earth through The Wrath of God.

These signs in which God spoke are the direct effect of humanity’s plague. We will also explore the cause but first let us read what our Lord said regarding this:

Matthew 24:3-28 of the NKJV tells of the signs, seasons, and The Great Tribulation…The Lord says this regarding these things:

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The Great Tribulation
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.

26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

As you can see from what we have read all of what is – has happened – and will continue to happen, which is the result of lawlessness and corruption. Abominable acts of mankind fueled by the need for POWER and CONTROL.

This same power and control are what has driven man into the depths of sin. Power and control can only be derived from one place…and that one place is PRIDE. Pride is the foundation & cornerstone of sin.

Pride allows man to think there is no penalty for rebellion against God. Power and Control which stems from pride are the marks of the flesh dictating one’s life. This same action of pride in any and every capacity is in opposition to God for it is rebellion and this is no different than the actions of satan. Therefore, mankind fails and falls into the classification of children of disobedience.

The arm of the Lord has been fully extended to us as we were in the pit of sin and death and in that stretching out of His Holy Hand, He alone has the authority and ability to pull us out of that darkness, cleanse us of our sins and clothe us with garments of righteousness.

The attempt of power and control has plagued humanity since the beginning of time because BEFORE this root cause which is pride filled the earth, it reared its ugly head in heaven with lucifer attempting to overthrow God with the help of one-third of the angels.

However, we see that attempts of any kind will never work because God is POWER in fact the mechanical Hebraic transliteration of ELOHIM means POWER which references YHWH and is the masculine form. God [ELOHIM] is Almighty & Eternal and He alone is Omnipotent, He alone is Strength. He alone is The Aleph and The Tav…The Beginning and The End.

Therefore, the devil was thrown out of heaven, and one-third of the angels with him.

Ecclesiastes 1:9
That which has been is what will be,
That which is done is what will be done,
And there is nothing new under the sun.

Throughout the Bible, we have seen a continual notion of pride in this manner. In the pursuit of power and control mankind has continually desired to be like God and as mentioned if given the chance – to be gods in their flesh – gods and in their mind – gods in the afterlife. (We’ve seen this belief system in ancient civilization markings such as with Egyptians.)

This prideful desire is a need for power and control; the ability to have full autonomy over all things in their lives and for some the authority over other lives as well.
Almost every single people group, every culture, every heritage, and every tradition derives from some form of this thinking. Leading humanity to believe that authority and decision making is one and the same and therefore, this need arises to overthrow the rightful heir of Authority of the heavens and earth.
Many attempts have been made throughout the existence of the earth but none successful.

Mankind refuses to submit to the One Creator who is The Authority…and with submission your Shepherd. Matthew 24 is coming to pass…Revelation is coming to pass. Both have come to pass in the time of the apostles as well and because nothing is new under the sun, we are witnessing the fulfillment of prophecy in our time.

This is the direct result of power and control stemming from pride which is sin and leads to death eternal.

In Genesis 11, The scripture tells of the Tower of Babel and that mankind had one language and one speech; which is one verbal and one written form of communication. But they sought to build a tower that would reach the heavens and make a name for themselves.

To make a name for themselves…this is to exalt themselves. This means they sought through the root of pride the desire to place themselves at a high or powerful level and to hold themselves in high regard.

This agenda is an attempt of the removal of God as the Authority and replace Him with man. This is the ultimate form of idolatry, adultery, blasphemy, and rebellion and through this opposition, one would surely be on a path to imminent destruction.

For this reason, we read of the actions of God Almighty in verses 7-9 of Genesis chapter 11:

7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9 Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

This type of rebellion is not uncommon and we today know it to be a form of replacement theology. It is a widespread notion that has even infected the Christians’ perspective of the Gentile position in the Body of Christ.

There are anti-biblical views that come in the form of false doctrine which is leading many down a path of opposition to God.

This particular form of replacement theory is a false doctrine that teaches that Christians have assumed the rightful place of Jews in the Body of Christ as the chosen people because of the Jewish rejection of The Messiah.

Now surely this is a topic within itself that would take additional time to discuss thoroughly but the simple response to this – is that this – is simply an untruth that the enemy is fueling through pride with the desire to have power and control within one group of believers over another.

This is totally against the Word of The Lord who says we are one in Him just as He and the Father are ehhad…One and Unity…meaning completeness or wholeness.
And in reading the scripture in context, which is to go back to the original writings we can receive the deeper meaning of the passages but also gain an understanding of the Jewish position and the Gentile position in Christ Jesus.

The Gentile believer is grafted into the Olive Tree and thus the Jew whose eyes and ears have also been opened to the Revelation of Yeshua as The Messiah is also grafted back into the Tree.

In speaking to the woman at the well Yeshua tells us this important declaration in John chapter 4 with a highlight on verses 21-26…key verse 22.

21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”
26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”

So you can see from this example, Yeshua Himself The One Who has All Authority has spoken and said, “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.” Yeshua comes from a royal bloodline designated within the Jewish people group. So to teach an ideology that does away with this Truth is a demonic doctrine that is ushered in by prideful flesh with an underlying tone of power and control…power in the idea of the Gentile being a more special or uniquely chosen people as opposed to being unified in The Body of Christ….and control in the form of creating false doctrine built on the misunderstanding from grace through faith.

An IDEA is a thought or suggestion as to a possible course of action…To aim or purpose. This is the stepping stone in pursuit of power.
CONTROL is defined as the power to influence or direct people’s behavior or the course of events.

Control is also the action of creating or the attempt to create.

And this notion of power and control stemming from its root of pride which is sin leads to what we have seen time and time again throughout the Holy Scriptures. The attempt by mankind to pridefully take power by trying to control the creation of earthly things to mimick the authoritative nature of God…the eternal and supernatural nature of The Father and Son.

Through the unwavering love and mercy of God Yeshua warns believers in Matthew 24 and even in Revelation 2 and 3. This is for us to take heed to the destruction around us and also consistently immerse ourselves in His Word from which comes wisdom & knowledge; through this obedience comes His Holy Spirit to guide us into all things. Just as the woman at the well proclaimed that the Messiah will tell us all things it was so…our Messiah confirms this Truth and says to her “I who speaks am He“.

As we read earlier there is nothing new under the sun. If it happens now it was already foretold and has already occurred for God’s Word does not return void but as He says in Isaiah 55:10-11

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth – and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My Word be – that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Before closing, let us read a few scriptures that talk about this sin of pride which causes the desire for power and control:

Proverbs 16:18
Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes shame;
But with the humble is wisdom.

James 4:1-6
4 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?

6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”

Colossians 3:12-13
12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

The Lord has not only warned us of these things but He tells us how to overcome through Him…and the only way to overcome through Him is to draw near to Him…and to draw near to Him we must first come to His Throne in humility, asking for forgiveness and submit ourselves unto Him.

John 4:7-10 teaches that humility cures worldliness and it reads:
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

May we embrace His chastening and know that we are loved. May we submit ourselves in humility resisting the devil and a prideful nature which causes the lustful desire for power and control….this opposition is rebellion against God…This is the plague of humanity…Let us all take heed to the Word and Warning of God.
