Do You Have Oil in Your Lamp?

ל LAMED

89 Forever, O Lord,
Your word [a]is settled in heaven.
90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations;
You established the earth, and it [b]abides.
91 They continue this day according to Your ordinances,
For all are Your servants.
92 Unless Your law had been my delight,
I would then have perished in my affliction.
93 I will never forget Your precepts,
For by them You have given me life.
94 am Yours, save me;
For I have sought Your precepts.
95 The wicked wait for me to destroy me,
But I will [c]consider Your testimonies.
96 I have seen the consummation of all perfection,
But Your commandment is exceedingly broad.

Matthew 25:1-5 NKJV

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

Do you have oil in your lamp? If you have read Matthew 25:1-13 in the passage entitled, “The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins“, you may have an idea of this concept through the teaching of our Messiah Yeshua (Jesus). Did you know the teachings of Messiah are prophetically multilayered in meaning throughout all generations?

In getting understanding, also understand this regarding the King’s warning in His message.

In Psalm 119:89-96 (Lamed) with the key verse for this topic being verse 96, the consummation of perfection is symbolic of the marriage covenant which is a mirror image of the unity of The Bridegroom Who Is our Christ Jesus and the Bride who are His Inheritance, His followers who are His believers and servants… ambassador in chains of the Most Holy One of Israel, God The Father, proclaiming the Good News of The Gospel, The Testimony of Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Oil is representative of The Holy Spirit according to Luke 4:18-19, we can see the context of this in the following passage:

Jesus Rejected at Nazareth (Luke 4:16-22)

16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, “Is this not Joseph’s son?”

Not only is The Holy Spirit symbolized through oil but also as a Dove, Consuming Fire, Oil, Wind and Water. We see this clearly throughout the books of the Bible.

 Matthew 25:6-10 NKJV

“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

    Did You Know?

A lamp is trimmed when the wick is turned either up or down to regulate the amount of flame. If a lamp is empty of oil, it does not matter how much one trims it—the lamp will go out when the oil is consumed.

The five foolish virgins were caught off guard by the arrival of the bridegroom because they were more concerned with the burdens and cares of this world. They did not pray to have eyes to see and ears to hear the voice of The True and Living God. They did not stay diligent and tenacious in their walk and good fight of faith displaying the fruits of the good work of faith through the teaching, guidance and comfort of The Holy Spirit. They were not following Christ according to the Laws of The Spirit of Truth in repentance and obedience. They did not live by The Holy Standard of God. They did not show the evidence of having the Holy Spirit through upholding the heritage of God which is His covenant with His people.

2 Corinthians 6: 17-18 NKJV

Therefore

“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
18 “I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”

Deuteronomy 14:2 KJV

“For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.”

Matthew 25 Dual Prophecy in the Parable

THEY WERE NOT MEETING IN THE APPOINTED TIMES OF THE LORD’S FEASTS ACCORDING TO LEVITICUS 23. THEREFORE, THEY WERE BREAKING THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, BLESSING WITH THEIR LIPS, WHILE BEING HYPOCRITES AND LIARS THROUGH THEIR CONDUCT. PROCLAIMING THEIR FAITH AND YET HAVING NO EVIDENCE OF THE GOOD WORK OF FAITH, WHICH IS THE EVIDENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

And in this, the Glory of God departed from them just as His Spirit departed from the temple in Ezekiel 10. Because they were not watchful, they missed the APPOINTED TIME of THE WEDDING, which is the CONSUMMATION OF PERFECTION in YESHUA, which is the CONSUMMATION OF LOVE and this is the multilayering, the mystery revealed and confirmed just as it is written and seen over and over again throughout the Old and New Testament.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 NKJV

That which has been is what will be,
That which is done is what will be done,
And there is nothing new under the sun.

Matthew 25: 11-13 NKJV

11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Obtaining The Oil of The Holy Spirit

1 Peter 1:15-16 NKJV
